You have to love a party like this, a diverse wine selection with decants throughout the evening, a wonderful assortment of hors d?oeuvres and a great group of people to share this evening fundraiser with?all for one of San Diego?s premier causes?Mama?s Kitchen. Of the event, Executive Director Alberto Cortez states, ?It is a fun and relaxing evening where friends come together to have a good time and support a common cause. I encourage everyone to join us on for a variety of wine pours, served with plenty of delightful food. What better way to help others??

Thanks goes to Bourbon Street for hosting for another year, the Mama?s Kitchen?s 17th Annual Wine Tasting Event on Thursday, August 16 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., a premier and extremely popular community event now in on it?s 17th iteration. This year also has the return of Revivals, another Hillcrest mainstay, as a presenting sponsor. Said David Brinkman, CEO, Desert AIDS Project (D.A.P.) of the event and cause, ?Short of a cure, I believe we are winning the battle against HIV and just as D.A.P. is providing care for those with HIV and working to greatly decrease the spread of the virus in Palm Springs, we so admire the similar work that Mama?s Kitchen is doing in the San Diego area.?

In addition to great wine, food and company, event highlights include a ?Lucky Ticket? Silent Auction, featuring gift packages from San Diego?s premiere dining and entertainment venues, as well as Mama?s Kitchen?s popular ?Wine & Spirits Deck? drawings, in which guests purchase a playing card for a 1-in-52 chance to take home either a premium wine vault or a wine and spirits vault.

This year?s event also marks the return of the Wine Bottle Ring Toss, a creative opportunity to win bottles of wine and prizes donated by generous companies and individuals. Bring five items such as cereal, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, canned tuna or salmon to donate to the Mama?s Pantry service and receive three free rings to toss.
