UTI Mutual Fund (UTI-MF) is the oldest and among the largest mutual funds in India. The average Average Asset under Management (AAUM) of UTI-MF was Rs 58922 crore. This was lower by Rs 8200 crore than the March, 2011 figure of Rs 67188 crore.
UTI-MF offers 92 schemes as of now. 24 schemes are equity based funds. 59 schemes are debt based funds. 2 schemes are liquid and short term while 7 schemes are balanced/hybrid schemes.
During the year 2011-12, 32 debt schemes were launched and collected Rs 4603 crore. 19 debt schemes were terminated and no new equity scheme was launched.
The total dividend paid out by all the schemes in the financial year 2011-12 was Rs 1789 crore.
As on 31st March, 2012, UTIMF had 10.11 million investor folios.
UTIMF has also launched an investor education initiative called "Swatantra" for creating awareness about financial planning and the benefits of Mutual Funds.
