Recharge with a Weekend Internet Sabbatical [Inspiration]

Recharge with a Weekend Internet SabbaticalProductivity blog WorkAwesome recommends taking an occasional sabbatical from the Internet and your mobile phone. Doing so will allow you to recharge and clear your mind from the constant stream of data input, and maybe even accomplish a project that doesn't involve an online presense.

Usually online sabbaticals are taken for a specific reason, such as a home improvement project, travel, reconnecting with family or friends, or to work on the great American novel. Some professions have the benefit of taking a sabbatical for a few months, but most of us will have to settle for a week or a weekend.

In order to have a successful sabbatical you must set a firm date and send reminders that you will not be available during that time period. When the time comes, turn off your phone, unplug your router, and allow yourself time to work on yourself and refocus. Photo by Chris Phan.
