With this partnership, the facility will now be used by the Department of Early Childhood Education to house a high quality VPK program.? The program is open to 3 and 4 year old children. ?Parents of children who turn four years old by September 1, 2011 will be able to use the child?s VPK Certificate available through Family Central. (http://www.familycentral.org/PBVPKParents)
The students will be taught by highly qualified and certified teacher as well as Early Childhood Professionals with high credentials.? The class size is limited to 18 students.? The VPK program hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.? Students are eligible to participate in an Enrichment part from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with the option to attend 2 free extended-day hours from 7:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.? The VPK program prepares children for success in kindergarten, during their whole school experience and later in life.
The program will start in the beginning of the 2011-12 school-year on August 22, 2011 and will follow the regular school district calendar.? The cost of the program is $115 per week for students with VPK Certificates and $140 per week for students without the Certificate.? Subsidy Vouchers issued by Family Central for child care will be honored.
Registration is now open.? Parents may register at the main office at Boynton High located at 4975 Park Ridge Blvd., as well as at the Department of Early Childhood Education at 3300 Forest Hill Blvd.?
