VICKSBURG, Ms. ?Riverwalk Casino Hotel is all about the ?girls? this October!? Yes, you know what we mean by ?the girls.?? In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, Riverwalk is hosting the 5^th Annual Bras for Breast Cancer Fundraiser along with Clear Channel Communications; they are asking all women in area communities to donate their old bras at several local drop-off points and the casino will donate $1 for each bra collected to the American Cancer Society.? Large and small, straps and strapless, colorful and plain, polka-dotted and striped, all bras are welcomed!?

Riverwalk will be collecting bras from October 1^st ? 31^st.? Bras can be donated at Riverwalk Casino Hotel and Clear Channel in Vicksburg as well as Repeat Street Consignment and Curves for Women in Jackson.? With over 15,000 bras received last year from 43 different states, our new goal for this year is to receive 20,000 bras and at least one from each of the 50 states.? So get started today?look through those dresser drawers and get your donations made.?

There are even local organizations and individuals decorating their bras to be donated!? ?This is truly a fabulous event for a really great cause, and I love that the bras are donated to local shelters.? My staff and customers look forward to this every year, and we so appreciate all of the efforts Riverwalk and Clear Channel are making on behalf of breast cancer awareness and research,? says Michele Austin, owner of Repeat Street Consignment in Jackson.

Once the tallies are in, Riverwalk will announce how many bras were collected and the resulting donation that will be made to the American Cancer Society ? and, of course, the ceremony that we look forward to every year, stringing together all of the bras and displaying them across the old Highway 80 Mississippi River Bridge.? The check presentation and ?bra stringing? will take place Thursday, November 1^st at 9:00 a.m. following the Healthy Breast Rally at 8:00 a.m.? And you?re invited!

One in every eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, but the good news is that 98% of all breast cancer is curable if detected early. ?This fundraiser is something near and dear to a lot of people, and we are always so appreciative to everyone in the community who gets involved each year.?
